Tri-Boro Food Pantry Donation Drive & Taco Fest
The Steve Rich Group and Guardian Data Destruction are proud to announce our food drive for the Tri-Boro Food Pantry. The drive starts today and will be held on Saturday October 10th, 2020. All updates will be put on some of the local Facebook group page and Tankque.com.
As a kick start, our friends at Goya Foods have jumpstarted the campaign with generous donations through Goya Gives. Each week they will have a different item to donate in bulk. This week, week one, they have pledged nearly 6,000 cans of chickpeas to the food bank. Additionally, they have just informed us that week two will consist of the same quantity of boxes of yellow rice!
Each week preceding this Taco Fest event, we will be sending out a campaign requesting donations to the food bank. We are hoping for any amount of food or monetary donations that can transform the items donated into full meals. The food pantry will use these donations as needed to compliment the generous donations by Goya.
TACO SATURDAY!
We will finalize with Park Ridge this weekend, in hopes to use the Park Ridge Municipal Pool parking lot on Saturday October 10th for the event.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Volunteers to help cook, package and serve!!
- Local companies who want to sponsor- by donating time, equipment, food or monetary donations.
GOAL: Feed first responders and unsung heroes. Depending on the weather conditions on the date itself, we are looking to deliver meals to local hospitals, nursing homes or any other places that consist of dedicated frontline workers.
We encourage all frontline works, off duty doctors, nurses, police, fire, ambulance etc. to come by and pickup lunch or dinner.
NOTE: The food bank, while named the Tri-Boro, or as some call, the Pascack Valley Food Bank, is surely not limited to the Pascack Valley. Janelle Larghi, who runs the pantry as a volunteer explained, “the food pantry does not have boundaries, they help families from all of Bergen, Passaic and Rockland counties in the past and certainly will keep that going with this drive and taco event.”
For anyone else who would like to eat some terrific and authentic tacos (we have an incredible team of chefs who will be making them), we will look for any and all to come and pickup food and give a donation to the pantry.
